"Catalogues & Samples, Songs About NY" is like a Personal Diary from my last three years being in New York.
This record means how much i love this city, not a cliche…Just a humble, sincere tribute to New York City's spirit.
There is a lot of ¨adventures¨ to tell, way too many travels, amazing people & friends i met on the road, building up a new career, growing and living a new life, some of the happiest moments ever.
Sometimes gets hard being a foreign unknown guy coming from faraway, but in my early days in NYC a song told me "If i can make it there, i'll make it anywhere".
Once again, not a cliche at all…That's the Newyorker spirit i'm talking about.
These songs were written during the weirdest, strangest and hardest situations living & traveling from/to this city.
So this record means to me "if you truly believe in something, wake up everyday and do something to reach it, there is NO impossibles"
It took me probably some time to finally set up the recordings, but it just took a few hours to meet so talented musicians in a Studio and start recording right away, so simple.
There's no big ambitions, just making honest Music, there's different genres that maybe you did not see me playing so often but definitely Hip Hip, Soul, Rock, Jazz structures and NYC culture are the influences.
This "Part 1: The Trio Sessions" is just the first chapter, the most intense. "The Trio Sessions" was recorded with all the Musicians playing together while shooting the Video, There is absolutely NO Overdubs. CRANEO Films did an outstanding job shooting the session.
There will be two more chapters coming soon. I'm so glad & honored to have multiple line ups with some unbelievable Musicians on this project in between the Chapters. There's also amazing Audio Engineers on board.
I'm totally grateful for all this people involved, Eternally THANKS.
